With the release of WP 2.5 I’ve decided to take down my theme and start working on another. I’m fiddling with some ideas for someone else already so it’s really perfect timing.

Here’s a list of some of the memorable parts of the 2008 birthday:
- Work was more like Arizona and less like Hom.
- Myspace was acceptable.
- Not having a phone was the most confusing joke of the day.
- I make funny noises when I trip over things.
- Deadlines really are lines at which traversal means death.
- Cheesecake surprise.
- And I couldn’t guess who sent it.
Happy Birthday.

Someone at work told me
Awesome. You are the FOAB!
“Father Of All Bombs”? Hmm. Cool. I rather be the FOAK(Father Of All Kows). Or FOATAAT…NC…WCA(Father Of All Things Awesome And Totally…No Completely…Worth Complimenting Always)…
But I’ll take it.

Today feels like a day for an early bedtime. To summarize…
- Went to work and that was productive, but tough
- Went to the grocery store
- Had several short but draining email conversations
- Got a migraine
- Ate an expired Tuna Sandwich from the vending machine that may be slowly killing me
- Had a small relapse of sickness last night/today
At this point I half expect tomorrow to be the same…but minus points 3,4,5 and 6 :).

I’ve used Suse in the past…prior to it’s Novell affiliation. I’ve used a sizable list of other Linux distributions in the past…so this process you would think would have been just spiffy and easy right?
- all of my usb devices work out of the box.
- supported the laptop’s native 1280×800 resolution without configuring
- feels lightweight and easy to use…like…Ubuntu easy…
One complaint from the power user….
Just like Windows!?!??
K…seriously. I did pick the default settings with a gnome install at 2.2gigs. I did fill out all the correct wizzzzzzzardly forms. You can’t put at least a cheesy icon on the desktop for the command line? Woah…wait a second. That “computer” menu looks oddly like the new block configuration popular with XP/Vista…hmmm. Just like Windows in functionality but not in look? Compromise? K. I guess the times don’t change. Oh well.
~~
Anyways…I was happy to know that I had to configure my Netgear WG511T Card device with Ndiswrapper by hand because it wouldn’t detect it automatically. No really…I would have been frightened if it had configured that also…in all it automatically configured all my hardware on this Inspiron 6000 and I was sad to see that Ubuntu DID NOT. Oh well. Win some, lose some. Onward to playing with Suse!

I recently found my recordings of Gunslinger Girl. I was excited until I found out that the 2nd and 4th episodes (of 13) are corrupted and can’t be played at all! GAH! I found some on Itunes….but meh..that’s itunes. Guess I’ll have to add it to the list…..

Kow’s opinion/rant on being sorry.
People are sorry because they wish you weren’t going through something(sympathy). People are sorry because because they feel your pain(empathy). People are sorry because they’ve wronged you(apology). People are sorry because they feel guilty(duh).
You know what? You say you’re sorry enough and you’ve done something that hurts someone else and you have the ability and the situation where it’s acceptable…in fact necessary…to change your actions and you don’t…it becomes totally unbelievable.
Being sorry for wronging someone includes a certain repentance…where you turn away from your previous activities and decide to do something better. Saying you’re sorry over and over without action shows your inability TO BE sorry…and your inability to be believable. Either that or you’re the dumbest person alive. Or the most unfortunate. Or the most pathetic. Because at some point you say you’re sorry and YOU CHANGE SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR BEHAVIORS in order to facilitate your apologetic stance.
Is there such a thing as an apologetic handicap? Are people actually so habitually self-absorbed that they become….retarded?
Oh well.
Poignant thought: The truth really does hurt less than the lie discovered.
